:: REFRIGERATOR PROBLEM SOLVER ::
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY
Refrigerator not operating.

Plug at wall socket is disconnected / Main switch is defective or OFF.

Push plug into wall socket. Check and replace switch or make it ON

House fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped.

Replace fuse [correct size] or reset circuit breaker.

Inadequate voltage [Should be [220 V +/-10%].

Call local authorized electrical person to correct it.

Refrigerator Temp. Control is OFF. Turn Refrigerator Control ON.
Ambient temp. Is low / high.

Refrigerator works satisfactorily in the range of 16 to 43° C.

Defrost button may have been pressed.

Once defrost button is pressed, it is normal for the Refrigerator to remain OFF for a long time till all frost melts.

 
Refrigerator running too long OR is not cooling properly

Refrigerator has been recently disconnected for long period of time.

It takes about 24 hrs. For the Refrigerator to cool down completely so runs for long time.

Room or outside weather is hot.

It is normal. The Refrigerator has to run longer time under such condition to maintain desired temp.

Refrigerator has been installed near window or door where strong breeze is entering when Refrigerator door is open.

Install the Refrigerator away from the path of direct breeze.

Refrigerator and freezer are larger than the one previously owned.

This is normal. Large volume requires longer running time to achieve proper cooling.

Doors are open too frequently or for too long.

Warm air entering the Refrigerator causes it to run more. Try to open the door less often & for very short period.

Large amount of warm or hot food may have been stored recently.

Warm food will cause the Refrigerator to run more until the desired temp. is reached.

Refrigerator is too close to the walls or overhead cabinet. Provide sufficient clearance around and above Refrigerator as mentioned in user’s manual
 
Refrigerator running too long

Refrigerator Temp. Control set to cold. Temp.
Refrigerator Temp. control set to “test - run”

It is normal. If you desire Please reset the Refrigerator control to warmer side.
Turn control knob to normal setting.
Allow 24 Hrs. for temp. to stabilize.

Internal lights remain “on”

Check for proper door closure and operation of light switch.

Refrigerator not defrosted for long period.

Defrost Refrigerator regularly. [Don’t allow ice formation more than 6 mm thick on freezer.]

Refrigerator or freezer door may be slightly open.

Make sure Refrigerator is level. Keep food and container away from blocking door.

Refrigerator or Freezer gasket is dirty, worn out, torn or not fitted properly.

Clean or change gasket. Leaks in door gaskets will cause Refrigerator to run longer in order to maintain desired temp.

Refrigerator just started after defrost cycle

This is normal after periodic defrosting.

 
Refrigerator runs & goes on / off frequently.
Temp. in the freezer is too cold
Temp. in the Refrigerator is too cold [Frost Free models]
Temp. in both compartments is too cold
Temp. in the freezer or Refrigerator warm

Refrigerator Temp. Control is cycling to maintain set temp.

This is normal. Refrigerator goes on & off to keep the temp. at set range.

Chiller tray flap kept outward. Keep chiller tray flap inside.

Cold air control is set to freezer max. [Frost Free models ]

Set the Cold air control to normal. Allow 24 Hrs. for temp. to stabilize.

Cold air control is set to Refrigerator max.

Set the Cold air control to normal. Allow 24 Hrs. for temp. to stabilize.

Refrigerator Temp. Control set to cold.
Refrigerator temp. control set to “test run”
[Frost Free models]

It is normal. If you desire Please reset the Refrigerator temperature controller to warmer side.
Turn temp. control knob to normal setting
Allow 24 Hrs. for temp. to stabilize.

Cold air control is set to warm. [Frost Free models] or Food package is keeping door open.

Set the Cold air control to normal. Allow 24 Hrs. for temp. to stabilize. Rearrange Food package.

 
Temp. in the freezer or Refrigerator warm

Refrigerator Temp. Control set to warm.

It is normal. Please reset the Refrigerator control to colder side. Allow 24 Hrs. for temp. to stabilize.

Doors are open too frequently or for too long.

Warm air enters whenever the door is opened. Try to open the door less often.

Door remains open slightly.

Ensure that Refrigerator is leveled properly. Keep food & containers away from blocking door.

Large amount of warm or hot food may have been stored recently.

Wait until the Refrigerator or freezer has reached it’s selected temp.

Louder sound levels whenever Refrigerator is ON. High speed compressors.

It is normal for sound levels to be higher. Since today’s Refrigerator have increased storage capacity and lower operating temp. ranges, these require a high-speed compressor.

 
Louder sound when motor comes ON.

Refrigerator Operates at higher pressures during the start of the ON cycle.

This is normal. Sound will level off or disappear as Refrigerator continues to run.

 
Cracking sound when Refrigerator comes ON.

Parts undergo expansion and contractions, as in hot water pipes.

This is normal. Sound will level off or disappear as Refrigerator continues to run.

 
Air - flow sound like from fan.[Frost Free models]

Small fan circulates air in freezer compartment.

This is normal.
 
Dripping sound and or Sizzling sound in freezer.
[Frost Free models]

During the defrost cycle, water drips on the defrost heater and into the defrost pan.

This is normal sound, which will occur during defrosting cycle.
 
Bubbling or gurgling sound , like water boiling .

Refrigerant, used for cooling, is boiling in the evaporator as it is being circulated.

This is normal.
 
Vibration or rattling noise.

Refrigerator not level / Floor is uneven or weak. [Refrigerator rocks on the floor when moved slightly]

Be sure the floor is level and can adequately support Refrigerator. Adjust the leveling legs or rollers as needed.

Items placed on top of Refrigerator are vibrating.

Remove items.

Dishes/ bottles/ shelves vibrating in the Refrigerator

It is normal for dishes to vibrate slightly. Move the dishes slightly. Make sure Refrigerator is leveled.

Refrigerator is touching walls or cabinets.

Provide sufficient clearance around and above Refrigerator as mentioned in user’s manual.

 
Sweating in side / out side crisper tray, chiller tray & on the inside walls of Refrigerator

Weather is hot and humid which increases rate of frost buildup and internal sweating.

This is normal.

Door remains slightly open / open too often & for too long causing warm air to enter inside from outside the Refrigerator

Warm air entering the Refrigerator causes sweating inside. Ensure door is properly closed and is open less frequently and for short duration.

Vegetables or other contents contains and give off moisture.

This is normal.

Washed Vegetables or fruits drain while in the tray.

Dry items before putting them into crisper tray. Water collecting in the tray is normal.

Hot foodstuff kept inside Refrigerator.

Cool the foodstuff to room temp. before keeping inside Refrigerator

Poor cold air circulation inside Refrigerator due to over loading / covering of liner shelves with decorative plastic sheets.

Provide enough space for air old air circulation, & don’t cover liner shelves.

Uncovered foodstuff kept inside Refrigerator.

Cover all foodstuffs.
 
Sweating / Moisture forms on out side of Refrigerator / Water on drops on floor

Weather is humid.
Drain tube is not positioned correctly with defrost water tray.

This is normal.
Locate the drain tube properly

Door remains slightly open leading to edges of the Refrigerator getting cold & moisture from warm outside air condensing on it.

Ensure door is properly closed and is open less frequently and for short duration.

 
Odor in Refrigerator Refrigerator interior needs cleaning.

Clean interior with sponge, warm water and baking soda. Keep deodorizes inside.

Food with strong odor kept in Refrigerator.

Cover food tightly.

Some containers and wrapping papers produced odor.

Use different container or brand of wrapping paper.

 
Door does not close

Door is not designed to swing shut automatically.

Close door securely.
Food package is keeping door open. Rearrange food storage.

Door was closed too hard causing other door to open slightly.

Close both doors gently.
Refrigerator is not level.

Be sure the floor is leveled and can adequately support Refrigerator. Adjust the leveling legs or rollers as needed.

 
Crisper tray difficult to move

Vegetables touching shelf on top of crisper tray.

Rearrange Vegetables in crisper tray.
 
Light bulb is not coming ON Light bulb burnt out Replace with same wattage.
  Light switch plunger stuck inside Pushed in plunger to release.
 

No power to Refrigerator. Plug disconnected.

Check for power supply. / Push plug into wall socket proper.

No power at the washer

Plug at wall socket is disconnected / Main switch is defective or OFF.

Water not filling.

No water supply / Main tap not opened.

Check water supply. / Open the tap.
Inlet water hose twisted or clogged. Clean / Straighten drain hose properly
Inlet valve filter clogged.

Remove inlet hose from washer, clean inlet valve filter and re-fit hose.

 
Washer does not operate. No proper water supply. Check water supply. / Open the tap fully.
Washing drum not filled up to proper level. Check water supply / water pressure.
Start / Hold button not pressed on. Pressed On Start / Hold button.
Pre set/fixed washing cycle been selected. Check the program.
 
Water in washer does not drain, or drains slowly Drain hose is pinched or clogged. Straighten drain hose clean properly.
Drain hose not leveled properly. Straighten or level drain hose properly.
Drain hose length is too long. Maintain length as per user manual.
 
Washer does not spin. Have you selected spin program? Select spin program.
Lid is not closed properly. Close lid properly.
Drain hose is pinched or clogged. Clean / Straighten drain hose properly.
Drain hose hanging high. Keep the drain hose properly.
 
Drying effect poor Washer is overloaded. Don’t overload the washer.
Load is out of balance. Rearrange load to allow spinning at top speed.
Drain hose is pinched or not in proper level. Straighten or level drain hose properly.
 
Noise or Vibration During Spin. Washer is not level. Level the Washer.
Laundry leaning to one side. Distribute the laundry evenly.
 
Water leaks Inlet hose connection not proper or loose. Check and tighten hose connections.
Drain hose is clogged. Clean drain hose.

Use of a high - seducing detergent in soft water can cause suds to overflow inside the washer. This may appear as leak if suds flow or drips on to the floor.

Use low - scudding detergent. Or use less quantity of that detergent.
